Tools down on site, the Apprentice's are graduating and we're sponsoring an award!

Taps Awards evening 2018

A number of ATEC representatives this year had the pleasure of attending the TAPS Apprentice Awards of Excellence and Graduation Ceremony. Held in the Magarey Room at Adelaide Oval, there were plenty of achievements recognised throughout the night. Between the mixing and mingling with old friends and colleagues, there was plenty of food, drink and enjoyment flowing on a night many look forward to each year.

It was an honour to again be aligned with the Excellence in Safety category, highlighting the diligence in safety that plumbing organisations in South Australia are showcasing. Sponsoring the 'Above & Beyond Safety Expectations' Award, we were proud to present the award to Streamline Plumbing SA Pty Ltd.

Presented by our very own Craig Webber (Construction Trainer), Streamline Plumbing were recognised for their safety practices within their work in the commercial plumbing sector. Congratulations to everyone from Streamline, it is great to have organisations, such as yours, who take pride in providing an exceptionally safe workplace for not only their employees, but their clients as well.

Joining us in the formal proceedings for the night was David Pisoni, Minister for Industry and Skills, who gave wonderful insights into the current focus on apprenticeships by the State Government. Highlighted was the immense investment the Government will be making over the next four years. With plans to inject more than $180 Million into developing and creating around 20,000 apprenticeships and traineeships over the four-year period, it is certainly an exciting time to be a part of the industry.

On a much lighter note, it was great to hear from AFL legend, Brendan Fevola, as he partook in an entertaining chat facilitated by MC, Chris Dittmar. Discussing life after football (the good and the bad) including his win on the 2016 Australian series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Fevola highlighted the dedication we must make in order to reach our goals (no pun intended).

Again, we would like to congratulate all of the graduates and award winners, and a final special mention to Streamline Plumbing for taking home the ATEC sponsored award.

We look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with TAPS, and can't wait to attend next year's event!
