Skills for Sustainable Industry
Skills for Sustainable Industry
This project was funded by the Australian Government through the Teaching and Learning Capital Fund for Vocational Education and Training.
Within 12 months of commencement ATEC constructed, fitted-out and equipped extended training facilities at its Lonsdale and Ottoway sites, incorporating both workshops and classrooms at each site as well as a Computer Lab at the Ottoway site. During the planning phase consideration was given to maximising opportunities for Environmentally Sustainable Design and during the tendering process for construction, priority was given to local contractors (in each of the regions).
Building at both sites is complete and ATEC has commenced training in Renewable Energy 'Electrotechnology' and 'Engineering' qualifications that meet the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework. These qualifications will complement the Certificates I, II and III currently being delivered in the electrical and electrotechnology fields.
